Progress Report

5 07 2010

As of late we have had quite a bit going on.  We are working our way through distributing literature to all the houses within one mile of the church six times.  We have distributed about 18,000 pieces of literature since the beginning of the year.  Of course this is not the most exciting news yet.  We just got our new church tracts in, and they look great!  We did some distribution last week with them and we were pleased with the results.

I want to invite everyone to take a look at the new tract, take a few, and get started handing them.  They have an excellent, clear plan of salvation written by Mark Tolson.  I have even sent out the design to other churches and there are some that are interested in customizing and ordering it.

Lastly, I would like to invite everyone to come out on Community Impact on Saturdays at 10:10.  We have bus route visitation to do as well as distribution of literature.  Also, we would like to make regular visits to those that have visited our church, shut ins, and those that are sick.  You may be thinking that there are other ways to outreach, and I would agree.  If you have any new ideas for outreach, please let us know.  Make plans to be a regular part of our outreach program.

Creativity in Outreach

26 01 2010

I was thinking recently that we might need to get a little creative with our outreach.  I have been doing work with the doorhangers that are associated with the website.  But I want to try to expand on this foundation.  If you have any ideas about how to tie into this structure, let me know.  Things that I have been thinking about are billboards, radio commercials, and ad spaces.  Most people don’t make decisions about an organization in a single encounter.  So we will have to have multiple encounters.  I will be posting here when I have anymore thoughts.

VBS Visitation and Bible Club

11 05 2009

It is going to be an exciting time over the next three weeks. We will need all of the resources possible, and I hope that you are ready to help make VBS a great time this year. We are going to of course be doing a lot of visiting and calling for VBS. I am hoping that we can start visiting in areas where we will be able to plan bus routes. This means dense populations like apartment complexes and trailer parks etc. The main event will be on the 23rd with a Bible Club at the Greenhouse apartment complex. This is a unique opportunity because the management there has given us permission to host a bible club and even go from door to door to invite people. For this event we will be meeting at the church at 10:10 then setting up at the Greenhouse at 10:30. After that we will have a Bible lesson time, game time, and even some food (hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks). I hope that you will plan to help us with this. Even if you are not able to make it every week, help in anyway would be great. Lets all keep in contact and let me know if you have any ideas.

Helping Plan Community Impact Events

20 04 2009

I have been wanting to start working on some ways that we can better reach out to the people in our community.  I was reading something earlier today about the demographics of our area.  It is amazing the diversity not just of race and creed, but also in levels of income and qualities of living.  This means that we must employ many different ways to reach out.  I would like for us to begin tracking ways that we can plan Community Impact Events.  As we here of community events such as parades and fairs, we can plan to be apart of these by passing out flyers and atteding a booth.  So, that being said let me know if there is something coming up.

Change In Schedule

3 04 2009

We have a change in scheduling. Due to easter we are going move the Bible Club to after Easter. We have a lot of distribution to do with the Easter cards. So please come out and help us on Saturday. We will be distributing 1500 or so postcards. This means we need as many people to help as possible. See you Saturday!

Bible Club at Greenhouse Apartments

25 03 2009

We are going to be having a special Bible Club at the Greenhouse Apartments on April 4, 2009.  We will be cooking hotdogs, playing games with the kids and having an evangelistic Bible time with everyone that comes.  We will of course need as many volunteers as we can muster, so please make plans to be there.  There will be a need for cooks, teachers, game leaders, flier distributers.  Let me know how you would like to help.

Looking forward to Celebration Sunday

23 02 2009

In gearing up for Celebration Sunday, we are planning a few things for Community Impact.  One that we are going to be doing is a couple of special bus route visitations.  This Saturday the 28th we are going to be working with the bus ministry to reach children and families that need rides to church.  We hope that we can build toward Celebration Sunday.  We will be having another bus route visitation again on the 14th of March.  I hope that you will join us to help with this ministry.  Also, if you notice anywhere that would be a good place to visit for the bus ministry let me or Robert Canfield know.

Spanish Lunch Update

7 02 2009

It was exciting today at the Spanish Lunch!  18 young men came to eat lunch with us.  We had pasole, black beans, rice and chicken.  Thanks to a few folks like Sandy Pearson, Asunta Tubillas, Trent Cornwell, Lindsay Fredman, Kathryn Pearson, Kristen Pearson, Santiago Arenas, Seth Howeth, and Ethan Howeth it was a huge success.

While the food was great it of course wasn’t the only thing that we had.  Bro. Ronald gave a gospel presentation, and praise the Lord, 12 raised their hands for salvation!  It was definitely a great time at Community Impact today.  Here are a few other photos.

Exciting Event Coming Up This Saturday

2 02 2009

This Saturday we are going to be helping with lunch that the spanish church will hosting.  The plan is for the ladies lead by Asunta to fix lunch while everyone else goes out to find folks to bring to lunch.  At lunch, Bro. Ronald will be preaching a gospel message.  What we will be doing reminds of the parable that Jesus told about the man that prepared a banquet then sent out his servants to compel people to come.  Of course you can read more about that in Luke 14 starting at verse 16.  Pray that we will have good response.  Also, considering helping us this Saturday.  We can use as many people as possible.
